About DAAST Ad Categories

DAAST ad categories are an extension of the IAB Quality Assurance Guidelines taxonomy. By assigning DAAST ad categories to your campaigns, you can keep ads for the same type of products or services from playing too closely together, and keep ads from competing companies from playing too closely together.

For example:

If you have two ads for banks, you would set each one's DAAST category to Personal Finance – Banks (IAB13-13). This tells AmperWave Streaming that these campaigns are competing, and AmperWave Streaming separates them by the number of minutes specified in your account's No Compete Time setting.

There are two levels of specificity for DAAST ad categories: tier 1, which are broad; and tier 2, which are more granular and grouped together under tier 1 categories. In the example above, Personal Finance is a tier 1 category and Banks is a tier 2 category.
