What is Play Aggregation?

AmperWave Streaming console uses a feature we call play aggregation.

What is Play Aggregation?

When a play-based ad is delivered to a user we store the precise fractional play count based on how many users there are on the stream at that time.

For example:

If there are 1000 people consuming the stream, each user that receives a play-based ad counts as 1/1000 of a play for that ad.

To further this example, if 400 people receive the ad in that ad break and an hour later if there are still 1000 people listening and 600 people receive that ad, together the 600+400 impressions total 1 play.

In this manner, advertisers receive exactly the impressions they would expect to get for each play.

What Are the Advantages of Play Aggregation?

Increased accuracy when inserting play-based ads alongside impression based ads in a 1 to 1 fashion.

No maintenance or changes required from broadcasters.
