This section enables configuration of the player panes. In this section you can select what panes you want in the player, configuration options for each pane, and the order of the menu items (which corresponds to the order of the panes on the player from left to right).
Click the Players tab, then the Web Player sub-tab, then click Edit for the player you want to edit. Click the Menu Items tab. |
There are a maximum of eight panes configurable on a single player. The panes available to enable/disable and configure are:
•Currently Playing (Required): This pane displays the album art for the currently playing song. (Note that talk stations should label this pane “Home” or similar).
•Recently Played (music stations): A list of the recently played songs, their artist, time played, and album art.
•News Feed: An RSS News Feed
•V6 - Playlist: (v6 only) A list of on-demand files (interviews, in-studio performances, etc.). This is different than a podcast in that an RSS file is not associated with these audio files. A playlist is simply a list of uploaded audio files and descriptions and offers the ability to listen to these files through the player.
•iFrame: A frame that can embed almost any web URL. You can use this to display a page from your website directly in the player.
Note: The v7 player will not load any site that is not served over HTTPS or that does not allow itself to be iFramed. Check that the URL begins with https: and not http:, and test the player to make sure the URL can load in the iFrame.
•V6 - Comment: (v6 only) A form the user can fill out which gets sent to the station. This can be used for song requests, questions for hosts, etc.
•Stations: A list of the group’s other stations and the ability for the user to listen to those through the player.
•Links: A list of sub-menu items that when clicked, launches a browser window to the defined URL. This is typically offered as a catch-all to jump to certain sections of the station’s website such as Contact Us, How to Advertise, etc.
•Podcast: An RSS feed to enable the user to view and listen to podcasts.
Note: In v6, the pane widths have the following width dimensions:
Extra Small: 320 pixels
Small: 480 pixels
Medium: 640 pixels
Large: 800 pixels
To select a pane, click it in the Available Items list. When its settings load on the right side of the screen, fill them out (see below for field details) and click Save Item.
To remove a pane, click the X next to its name in the Selected Items list.
When you are satisfied with the setup, click Publish.
